HERO

Sometimes life drops you on the street and moves away. And by the time goes by, you just stood there cry out for help. You pray for miracle to stop by. Finally when it comes, it took a form that we called a hero.

Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them, cheer them, scream their names. And years later, they’ll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get the glimpse of the one who taught them to hold on a second longer. I believe there’s a hero in all of us that keep us honest, gives us strength, make us noble, and finally allow us to die with pride. So what is a hero? Who is a hero?
Is it the decorated general who leads his army to victory,
or the unknown soldier quietly obeying orders?
Is it the researcher who finds a cure for cancer,
or the country doctor treating the sick?
Should a hero be one who saves thousands of lives,
or who comforts just one?
And what drives them, these men and women we call our idols,
our mentors, our elders, our friends?
Is it duty? Determination? Perseverance?

Perhaps there is a hero in all of us.
We just need to look.
